Intertidal walk together with Nature Society Singapore
Assembly time at wee wee 630am!
Marina South Pier. If anyone happen to go for such walk or to Kusu island, my advise is to just park your car by the side of the road (which alot of my other tour mate did), illegal or not, anyway will be better than in this carpark.. we are charged $17+ parking from 630 to 1pm...
Our ferry to the island, trip took about an hour to reach
The husband using Blackberry Google map.. Our ferry is the blue dot on the map
Island shape of Semakau... Puzzled by the cell looking split? all reclaimed land
They are building alot of posh home along on the land beside Sentosa Clove... the building structure kinda reminds me of Infineon
Arrived at NEA office on Semakau...
This place is call Semakau landfill because they are reclaimed land from our rubbish ash.. life span of this island is said to be until 2045.. by 2045 all the reclaimed "cell" area will be filled, all marine life will be killed... this place will probably turn into another resort, golf course for recreation usage...
Morning walk to the intertidal area
Oil refinery over other side of the island (SHELL)...
Mangrove zone
Semakau map.. The original Pulau Semakau only consist of the green patch at the left side of the map, rest of the "cell"/"phrase" are part of the reclaimed Semakau Landfill project
Samakau's hantu -.-
Walking trial of babies crab, the little ones
Caught a glimpse of sea grass meadow, sea sponge, coral rubble, coral reef, anemone, sea cucumber, crabs and etc...
It takes courage to soak your white sport shoes into the muddy puddle.. Oh!
The tidal area is literally a bed full of sea sponge like above
Make a guess what's this fat looking worm-like creature?
It's a sea cucumber! 海参!My favoriteof 八珍
Another one.. Tiger cucumber.. A fatter breed
It is sucking onto Inho's hand
Hairy Crab (Pilumnus vespertilio) mildly poisonous
Pretty in blue sea sponge
Cockles.. our cha kway tiao's favorite
Breathing pipes of sea-worms hiding underneath
Peacock seaweed
Dead brain coral
Spot a wiggly baby jello
Anemome.. there is little shrimp living under it.. tidal is coming high~
Modern fishing village owned by some angmo -.-
Ash collection center, place where the ashes comes in..
Back to Singapore mainland .. tired and disappointed.. didnt get to catch the Knobbly Sea Stars (Protoreaster nodosus) which was suspose to be a common catch on Semakau...
